  1. the fact is that yes they can, they can even tell you to go into your own house if your sitting in your garden.

the powers they now have is shocking but lets face it when 3 coppers can hold down a man in a tube station and shoot him 7 times in the head then convince a public enquiry it was completely lawful then stopping some guy standing on a bridge is bound to be in their powers.

after 9/11 we have been tricked into giving up allot of our rights and i think one day soon we will all regret it

  2. Depends what else you were doing at the time.

Making up the rules as you go along is fine until someone challenges it and you have to justify yourself, something that never happens to me when I'm at work.  If I'm wrong, I'll admit it but I don't make it up as I go along.

  3. I would ask them what offence you are committing and if they come up with an immplausible  answer tell them you do not agree and that you will make a complaint. Make sure you get the identities of the officers, date , time and wittnesses if possible.

  4. They can get away with just about anything by saying "breach of the peace"

  5. Only if the bridge has no footpath and is signposted as no pedestrians.

We dont decide what has no pedestrians just enforce it, blame the council, but it is for your own safety.

  6. I suppose they could if you were causing some kind of obstruction or nuisance - other than that they're probably making it up as they go along.

  7. While this is for the US, I can't believe that the UK  would be very different.

It depends. If the bridge had a sidewalk and you were on it then not likely, but if there wasn't one or you were standing in the traffic lane on a bridge with one then yes. Also even if there was a sidewalk or it was a pedestrian bridge if the bridge was in a closed/restricted area due to the show they can also.

  8. Ask a lawyer

  9. nothing u can do about it mate...d**n bobbys

  10. Under the EU they can do anything they want! you guys are a police state sorry!

  11. You don't say what was going on around you or where the fireworks were being set off.

You may have been moved on for your own safety, which they are entitled to do.

  12. Sometimes I wonder the same thing lol.  Cops seem to find away to get ya in trouble nomatter what the situation is.  If there was a law against standing on the bridge, then yeah they could give you a ticket.  I suppose they could tell you to get off if there's no law against it but they don't want you there...that doesn't mean you have to listen though.

  13. Well, there would have to be a law against it. Ask them what law you are going against to know if they can stop you.

Maybe it wasn't the standing on the bridge that was the problem. Was there another situation such as being with drunk and rowdy people causing distress to other members of the public? Were you on a pathway? Standing on the bridge probably wasn't the reason. Would need to know more info such as who you were with and how they were behaving. Were you blocking the way for other people? Were you on a safe pathway?

It's nothing to do with the EU Noah. If anything being in the EU gives the people more rights if their country mistreats them. That's why the Conservatives hate them, as they were for the EU until people could bring their case before the European courts.

  14. no they cant but will prob think of somethin else as excuse to move u
