Can the updates of my Laptop be transfered to my pc?

I have a laptop and a pc both with win XP. I update my laptop but not the pc.

  1. you should just set up auto update on both machines and let them download it separately... it is cleanest.  If you want to be efficient, you can download the update manually by going to the MS website, looking up the update, downloading it once and applying it to both machines... but what a pain.  Just go into the control panel on each machine and set up Automatic Updates and both machines will stay up to date.  


  2. I do it the hard way, but you can download Windows XP Service Pack 3 and then run automatic update on your desktop. The service packs are a compilation of all the patches up until that point.

    I burn them to a DVD or put them on another hard drive so I will always have it if I were to restore my PC.
