Can the usb port on the back of dish networks dvr-625 reciever be used for transfering video to a computer?

im not sure what the usb connection on the back of the dvr-625 is for, but i want to know if it can be used to save the movies in the reciever onto my computer

I doubt you can copy anything from a DVR..

Cable companies are paranoid about copy protection.

Most likely uses: being able to play/view JPEG images from a thumb-drive on your TV or perform a firmware upgrade.
