I have a Panasonic TV Model TX-32LXD70

As I am hard of hearing,I would like to use WIRELESS

Headphones with the volume at a higher level than that

being listened to by others viewing the same program.

From the operating instructions its not clear if this

is possible.

In the past I had a TV with a headphone socket that

unfortuneately cut off the speakers when WIRED

headphones were used.

Can anyone advise me if the wireless type perform

differently, or does it depend on the type of socket on the TV?

  1. It depends on the socket on the TV. Normally, inserting headphones kills the speakers. Wireless headphones need plugging in *somewhere*!

If your TV has red and white phono outputs, you could connect that to your wireless sender.

  2. Yes it is possible as the wireless units have their own drivers and an independant Volume control. The base unit will plug into the TV audio out and transmit the audio to the headset.

I would suggest that you use Wireless RF rather than IR Infra red based cordless headsets due to line of sight disruptions, additionally look out for ones that have an integral charger for the headset.
