  1. yes it happens were i live(colorado) a lot.

  2. It is possible, but its not very common. Usually when a tornado occurs, most of the rain is on the other side of the storm. However, it definately can rain heavily with a tornado present at the same time.

But, when a tornado occurs, the area of the storm will have little to no lightning. If you are in a thunderstorm that can spawn a tornado and lightning activity decreases or stops completely for about 10-15 minutes, then that is a good sign that a tornado is about to form.

  3. Yea.

  4. yes

  5. Yes, but usually one or the other comes first. When a tornado is wrapped with rain around it, it can become very dangerous. Trying to spot a tornado while its pouring can be almost impossible. Usually when you see a tornado it isn't raining where the video footage is being recorded but if you were to get closer to the tornado you may enter the core of the storm where hail and heavy rain is immediate. Also tornadoes won't suck the rain, because its not like a vacuum, instead the rain will be swept going in all types of directions. If you ever go to a spot were a tornado actually was, you'll see signs and trees pointing in different directions.

  6. I'm pretty sure that if there is a tornado there can be heavy rain fall at the same time. Actually the rainfall may slightly increase because a tornado would suck in the rain around it
