Can there be lightening only, no thunder or rain?

I'm seeing lightening right now...nothing else happening.

That what we usually known as heat lightning. Heat lightning are visible flashes of distant bolts that have no thunder sound accompanying them. It is not a unique form of lightning, but normal thunderstorm lightning that flashes too far away for its thunder to be heard.

It does not have to be raining at the exact spot that lightning strikes, but rain will most likely be associated with the storm the generates the lightning. Take a raincoat

Yes, there can only be lightning. It's called heat lightening.

It is called "Heat Lightning" and it happens when it stays pretty warm way into the evening and the conditions are right for it.
