Can there be more than 2 side pots in Texas Hold 'em?

  1. Yes. There can be 1 side pot for every person extra thats all in that had more chips.

    For example (this is hypothetical and would never happen) just to keep it simple.

    Small blind is in for $100

    Big blind is in for $200 ($300 total)

    First person to act has pocket 5's and $1000 goes all in.($1300 total)

    Next person pocket 6's and all in for $2000 (main pot is now 2300 and 1st side pot is 1000)

    Next person 7's and all in for 3000 (mp is 3300 1st side pot is 2000 and a 3rd side pot started and is now 1000)

    Next person 8's and all in for 4000 (mp is now 4300, 1st side pot is 3000, 2nd side pot is 2000 and a 4rth side pot is started and is now 1000)

    And so on if neccesary, but highly unlikely. Once an all in takes place the smallest guy can only win as much as he had to start before the hand from each caller. 2nd smallest guy can win the main pot and his 1st side pot started from each caller and so on.
