Can there be problems with welding a muffler from a bigger bike to a smaller bike?

two mufflers from 800cc twin being welded to 550cc four cylinder, and is it allowed on the road like this, because someone told me it wont certify with a modified exhaust (in the us, and im in canada,i dont know if theres a difference)

It depends on how big they are no.. and it depends on the weight but I also don't know if it'll be allowed on the road legally and I am not saying drive it on the road illegally either but if it is where you're from there could be certain sound restricitions meaning (your bike can only be so loud) like where I am from in the U.S. I Hope I've Helped Out Some...

The 800 cc mufflers will be louder than the stock mufflers because they were made for a larger engine.  The 800 mufflers have a larger diameter and will have less back pressure than the 550 mufflers had.  You need to be sure they physically fit the smaller bike by checking pipe diameters and locations for mounting brackets and rear foot pegs.

    Are they legal?  Technically no.  In general it is illegal to modify your exhaust to make it louder.  Will you be cited?  Depends on how loud and what else might be wrong when you are stopped.
