Can these drumstick holders be used for any type of drums, and are they good?

My friend wants a drumstick holder, so I was wondering if these would be good to get him. It says "Double Marching Drum Stick Holder," but can it be used for any drum?

good quality gear for marching snares or tenors,...not advisable for bass drums though,.........

If he's playing drumset he'd be better off with a regular sized stick bag. At least then he'd have room for more than 2 pairs of sticks.
