What can you do if your glove compartment breaks?

It is broken in the sense that it stays open all the time because the top clamp part that connects to close it doesn't work anymore. Is it possible to replace it? Expensive?

And the light doesn't turn on inside of the car? The little light doesn't light up, way up there on the top inside of the car.

Lastly, the air conditioning vent that you can adjust with your hand to control the direction of air flow broke and fell off and now there is just a hole where it was before that you can look inside of and see goodness knows what? The engine? It is a newer / newish, 2001 car ? Chevy

What do you think :)

  1. you can get the glove box latch at your Chevy dealer , wrecking yard or part store, the interior light bulb might be burned out or just deactivated by the switch on the dash or a blown fuse (courtesy fuse in panel) as for the "vent the local wrecking yard should be able to fix you up, none of these parts are expensive and can be done by yourself or a friendly mechanic

  2. Well you could take it to the dealership to have those costmetic things fixed but I would go to a junk yard first.  As for the dome light look at your fuse box under the dash and under the hood.  You just might need a new fuse.

  3. AH yes, good old American made cars...........

YES, it can be fixed. ANYTHING can be fixed, but a lot depends on the ability of the fixer.
