Sorry if this is a bit of a daft question! Can they mix white ink into blue ink (for example), to make it a really pale blue or would adding white affect the longevity of the colour (as I have heard white ink can turn yellow-ish?)

  1. Yes they mix it in the pots before hand. I was with my friend and she wanted lavender so they mixed the white with the vibrant purple.

  2. Yes! I have a tattoo that is shades of grey, which the tattooist mixed using grey and white as he went on. As far as I know, you can mix any of the tattoo inks to come up with new shades. White only turns yellowish if it is solid white - it's something to do with the natural tone of your skin coming through. It shouldn't have any effect when mixed.

  3. I know that they mix white with other colors to make a lighter shade. They can make virtually any color possible using the inks that they have.

  4. Why, sure you can. That's why they make 'mixing white'. And it's a very good question.

  5. yes the inks can be mixed to make unique shades and no it does not affect the longevity of it, one of my favorite tats has 6 colors that were all custom blended at the time and is 12 years old and people seeing it for the first time think i recently got it there has been no color fading

  6. yes you can i am am friends with a tattooist and he said you can and no the white doesnt go yellow as long as he is using good ink

  7.   In many instances adding white doesn't just make a color lighter, it also can make it brighter and if too much white is added, it just looks chalky.

No worries...a talented tattoo artist knows what inks to use to get the color you want.

  8. you cant tattoo over a already tender tattooed area unless its a cover over meaning its healed completely and you want to cover over a previous tattoo eg names etc...

when they tattoo you, 2 make shading and effects they either use a shading needle or mix the right coloured ink before they start
