i am getting a rat soon. so i like to look at these questions people ask... and one made me confused... it said can rats have corn on the cob without the corn? and people responded, and they said no it makes them sick and it hurts there tummy... but i thought rats can have almost everything.... so can they have corn on the cob without the corn??? if they cant what else cant they have???

  1. Foods that are forbidden include sweet potato, raw peanuts, raw beans, green bananas, soy, orange juice and orange peel.

    Foods that you should limit include cooked corn, beets, celery, eggplant, lettuce, cucumber, radishes, spinich, collard greens, oranges (the inside), chocolate, roasted peanuts, peanut butter, sugared cereals, seeds, meats.


  2. There is rat food at pet stores. I suggest feeding your new rat that. And As a treat little bits of human food. But they love seeds.

    Rats need to have proper food. So I would make sure you get them a food from the store and not just out of your kitchen.  

  3. Here are some foods pet rats can eat:

    NOT ORANGES (CANCEROUS)

    Avocado (high in fat, but healthy fat)

    Spinach

    Kale

    Turnip greens

    Brocolli

    Brussels Sprouts

    Carrots

    Tomato

    Cauliflower

    Turnips

    Corn (cooked)

    Peas

    Green beans

    Eggplant (with skin)

    Sweet Peppers (all colors)

    Squash (with skin, if possible)

    NEVER RAW BEANS!!

    Oats or oatmeal
