  1. Just because you are in the US does not mean you are allowed to work in US. This is a legal question. Leave the US immediately to avoid deportation.

  2. This is not racist, its to validate that you are a citizen or have a green card/work visa.

This is required of the employer by federal and state authorities.

  3. It's been on every application that I can remember.  41 female.  It's totally legal.  They don't ask your race or origin.  Just if you are legally able to work in the states.

  4. it is a legal question. it has nothing to do with race. In the US, if you are not legally able to work, and the employer hires you, he can be slapped with huge fines, his business can be shut down, and a rather large volcano will form in his back yard and boil his family pet alive. ok that last part wasn't true. but the rest of it is. if they ask a purely race question, like Are you black, white, latino, etc that is a volentary question and you dont have to answer.

  5. This question has nothing to do with race, it has to do with citizenship, only an illegal would turn it into a racial question!!! You are illegal, you do not deserve a job. Go home to where ever you belong!!! It is becoming law, that every business must check for legality of person they hire!!! And it's about time!!!!

    Report and Deport!!!!

  6. they can't discriminate against you because of your race, but if you are illegal, they can deny you just because it's illegal to hire illegals.

  7. You must prove that you are a US citizen, legal permanent resident or in the US on a visa which has work authorization.  They are obeying the law.  You are not.  This question has nothing to do with race, and applies to all citizens, legal permanent residents and all other people, regardless of their race, national origin, whatever.

If you cannot prove you have the legal right to be in the US and to work legally in the US, you need to go home.  They can sue you for fraud if you attempt to pass off fake/forged/stolen documents in an attempt to get a job!  And you can go to jail for years, too.

  8. yes they can.

  9. Are you able to legally work in the U.S. ?

It is a perfectly legal question and it is NOT asking you what your race is.  It is asking you if you have a green card, a work permit or a US passport.  Thats all.

  10. Asking if you're legally allowed to work in the country has nothing to do with race. They must ask this because it is ILLEGAL to employ anyone not allowed to work here.

From the way it sounds in your post, you have a problem with answering the question which makes me think you are an illegal alien. Go home!

  11. what does legally able to work in the USA have to do with race?  NOTHING

Does not matter if you are white, black, brown, green or orange.  If you are not legally able to work in the USA,  they cannot by law hire you.

A valid green card and you are OK to work.  If you are an illegal immegrant,  they cannot hire you. no matter whether you are Swedish, French, Mexican, or Canadian.

  12. That question is REQUIRED.  That question has nothing to do with your race.

  13. Are you legally/entitled to work in the US?

just put down Yes (it will also say do you have proof?)

I dunno what proof you can get, maybe a birth certificate, Pass-port or letter to prove you are entitled to work in the US.

The Race question is your ethic: whether you are white, black/African Caribbean, Asian etc. They ask that question for (equality):/

And they legally ask you if you are entitled, so the company hiring you won't be sued for employing an illegal immigrate to work and its also another method to select who is an immigrant or not (because immigrants can just come here and find work easily, they don't like it so they allowed this method. If the immigrants can't find a job then they will go back home)

    And no...you can't sue!
