  1. Yep.......that was really dumb........that will haunt you for the rest of your career.......nice going......

  2. yes, they could. You made a mistake.

  3. Yes, they can now consider you non-rehireable if someone calls them up for a job reference. You can be terminated at any time, during your notice period or even your last day of work.

  4. ya basically

  5. doc you a days pay from your last check

  6. Basically not pay you for that last day. You generally have to be away from a job for 72 hours with no contact to have considered abandoning your job.

It also depends on the company and how they want to handle it. Where I work, one of the senior managers left the company and, on what was supposed to be his last day, the VP of our business unit scheduled an all-hands meeting kind of as a good-bye to the guy. When he didn't show up on the last day, the VP had the meeting anyway (with cake and stuff) and expressed her disappointment that he didn't show up for his own party. But, I knew that the guy had left for personal reasons that he didn't want to share with the whole department. And, it would have been kind of embarassing for him to be there and have people ask why he was leaving.

  7. It could show up on a future reference.

  8. Yes, they can.

That wasn't a smart move, to ruin a reference like that.

  9. yes they can.  if the new job calls and ask would you hire this person back and they say no he/she doesn't show for work...

  10. It can't help your reference.  You should call and apologize saying it was a stupid mistake and you hope there are no hard feelings.  It will suck...but it can't hurt.

  11. They can ruin your reference and also not pay you for that day, of course.  Why didn't you just suck it up and go?
