Question:

Can they just switch out one lens?!?

so i have glasses, because i'm nearsighted in my left eye. i went to the eye doctor the other day and i need a new perscription in just my left eye. my right eye is 20/20. i need new glasses, so can they just switch out the one lens or do i have to get an entire new set of glasses?? thanks!

  3. they CAN do that...however...if you have any coatings on your lenses (anti reflective or transitions) its best if you have them both replaced. if you dont, you will most likely end up with lenses that dont match. if its anti reflective, you might have one lens that has a green coating and the other blue, or you might have two different shades of green, etc. transitions just came out with a new transition lenses this year, so the transitions will not change at the same rate nor will they darken the same.

    if you dont have any coatings on your lenses, you are more than welcome to have the one lens replaced. it is, however always recommended that you have a backup pair of glasses, because you never know what can happen to your everyday pair.  also, it is possible that you will need to leave your frames while the lens is being replaced, so depeneding on your rx, this might not be easy for your to do.

    like i said, you should always have a backup pair of glasses.
