Can they put Puerto rico as a race in a test?

i was taking a test and i saw they ask what race are you?

they put

African American

caucasian/white

Asian

Latino

Puerto rican.

I don,t know why they put Puerto rican so can anybody answer my question with some facts can they put Puerto rican or not?

The quesdtion shouldn't have to be asked by anyone with 20/20 vision or who has at least a proper fifth-grade education.
