Can this amp meter be used on a car??

Question

Can you run this on a car to read the amps across an electrical component? If you make the picture big it says 50mv on the face. The component will be running at about 25 amps.

That's not a complete amp meter. It's a 50 millivolt meter. You'd have to buy a .001 ohm shunt resistor http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-sto... to go with it. You put the resistor in line with the component you're measuring and the meter measures the voltage across the resistor. If you just hook that thing across a component, it will blow in about one tenth of a second.
