  1. no I don't think you can other wise it would be a bit cramped

  2. if you can get a bigger cage i would i have the super pet but the long one and its around the same price then i added  hamocks and ropes and ramps for them to climb on also WHEELS lol my rats especially my girls love the wheel the wheel in that cage is good its better then using a wire one where their feet can get stuck. good luck!

  3. Here's a great tool to check how many rats a cage can suit well: http://www.rattycorner.com/odds/calc.sht...

According to that site, it could only hold 2 rats.

That giant wheel is a waste of space. Rats don't usually use wheels. They are too intelligent to be entertained by running in one place :) If you get rid of whe wheel, and add in several hammocks (like those for ferrets) and a bunch of hiding boxes, two can live happily in that cage.

Edit: Rebecca, I have never once had rats that would use wheels, and I always put them in just in case anyone wanted to give them a try. The reason why your rats use them is probably because you have so many rats, and have no time to exercise them all. I take in homeless ratties as well, but only several at a time, so I always have time to get them out of thier cage to run around on the floor and burn off their energy. This is the typical pet setting, which is the way I presumed this guy wanted to keep his rats. As long as the rats get to run around out of the cage (which they should every day) most will not show interest in running in a wheel, and if so, it will only be taking up space.

  4. Yes, that cage could fit two female rats, but just barely. It's a little on the small side. I have used that one before.

And don't listen to Eraser Eraser about wheels, as that is absolutely NOT true. The wheel in that cage is the perfect size for rats. And MOST rats *WILL* run in a wheel. It has nothing to do with their intelligence. Rats run in a wheel to burn off energy. Some rats will actually run more than five miles in a single night.

Replacing a wheel with hideboxes and hammocks will just eventually lead to some obese rats. You should still take your rats out to play every day, but leave the wheel in for several months to give them a chance to get the hang of it. It's pretty rare for a rat to live in a cage for a long time with a wheel and never use it. Especially females. Males can get kinda lazy when they become adults. And of course, old rats wont use them much.

I have been rescuing rats for 6 years. We rehome hundreds every year. And we ALWAYS keep them in cages with wheels. I could probably count the number of rats who refused to use a wheel on my fingers. I have three cages full of rats right now, and I can hear all three wheels spinning in the next room! :)

  5. probably only 2 not 3 lolz it depends how small they are and if they get along well. if the 3 rats don`t get along i suggest you don`t put them there. if you rats love to move and run a lot you should pick another cage . im sorry you had to hear this but im speaking the truth .

  6. yes it can,i have a tank and it fits three, that is plenty room for them to play
