Can an employer use your personal info (social security #, birthdate, address, etc.) to s***w you over if you tell them to f*** off?

  1. It would be highly unethical and could lead to legal action for violating the employees right to privacy.  I highly doubt any employer would risk the repercussions that could result from such action.


  2. Well if it is him doing things "in your name acting as you" that would be right up there with identity theft, but you had better be sure it's him or at least someone acting out of malice intentionally.

    That said there must be some violations you can turn him in for safety, overtime rate not paid for more than 40 hrs (that's a common one) violations of some city code or ordinance,

    If he's the kind of guy that would try s******g someone, you can be sure he's taking shortcuts or skirting laws somewhere!!

    Most places and states have a fair labor board of some sort to make a labor related complaint

    Is there any soaps, chemicals, anything that should have an MSDS (material safety data sheet) available to all employees that would come in contact with said chemical, (that's another common one), a restaurant/lodge I worked at in Michigan got hit for $800 for that one and a couple minor things, and the inspector stumbled on it no one turned them in

    On a side note if you think there may be incidents of "any" type get a little pocket notepad or if there's paper there, write down what happened, time/date and who was there when it happened....you don't want to be the one with a fuzzy memory is anything comes to push...

  4. That is a real "NO NO" in the business world......

    Suggest you consult with your local district attorney.

    Your local "EEOC" or any state employment office.

    And do it soon.......

    Its your right to tell them to f***off....but not there right to do what they are doing.

    Go to the Dept. Of Labor Web site   (dol.gov) and read the rules, they are supposed to abide by; see harassment and discrimination (being singled out different than other employees)........

    You'll see DOING THAT IS A BIG "NO,NO......."

  5. No they are not supposed to.. due to the fact that it is private information..But it depends on what they used the information for.. If you owe back child support or if for some reason a garnishment was to be added to your pay buy law they have to follow the order.. so it depends on what they used it for..   If they used it to get credit cards ..etc.. then that is identity theft and they cannot do it..
