It would be champagne. I'm just wondering because it looks nice to me but some people told me it looks more like a bridesmaids dress and now I am unsure. I like that it's silk and not polyester. I want an affordable dress(please no David's bridal those people are a$$holes ). If you think you have a better dress I like sweetheart necklines and off white colors(ivory or champagne) since white washes me out

I think that a wedding is such a special day and you should wear what you love and feel most comfortable in.

If you like it buy it don't listen to what people say they're not the one getting married.

To me it's really pretty, so my opinion go for it =)

I think it is a beautiful dress! I would wear it.It's your wedding do what you want as long as you look stunning and it is in good taste and this is.

That is a beautiful wedding dress... it's simple, it's very 40's glam, the silk would hang beautifully over any areas that you think aren't flattering, the sweetheart looks nice if you have B cup to D cup bust (if you don't it's ok just try to get some padding because a sweetheart is asking people to look at your chest lol)... But be careful because if you have a big behind the silk will make it look even larger. Be smart, be different. If you know that white washes you out champagne, ivory, cream, buff, nude, and whatnot will give you an instant tan. I love it and think it's gorgeous... no need for David's Bridal foofoo huge dresses... you want something elegant, yet s**y (and the back IS SO s**y), something you can dance in and feel confident in. And besides it you're wedding forget if everyone else thinks it's bridesmaid dress... if they like something a little more traditional tell them to either a) have their own wedding b) renew their vows and have another wedding :)

Absolutely it works for a wedding dress--what makes the dress is the veil anyway. THAT'S what makes you a bride. The important thing is that YOU like the dress. And, look at it this way, that's a dress that you can wear after your wedding, so how cool would that be to be able to wear your wedding dress on a date like New Year's Eve?

And you're absolutely right on white--I work in a bridal salon, and there are very few girls that pure white looks good on--it washes out most girls BIG time.

I LOVE it!!!!!!! It is way more beautiful then most wedding dresses I see these days, and much more elegant. The only way it would look bridesmaid is if you bridesmaids are dressed in something similar. My recommendations is to make sure they wear something knee length versus floor length.

Oh gosh I love it so much lol.... I am not usually that impressed over a dress :-D!

Take advantage of the fact that it looks like a "bridesmaid dress". Wear the champaign and have your bridesmaids wear a different color of the same dress.

It is so pretty! It does look like a bridesmaid dress, but even though you could pull it off as a wedding dress, that would leave the problem of what the bridesmaids would wear!

I think it is more casual than a traditional wedding dress, but if that is what you are going for, then don't worry about what others say. It is a pretty dress, and if you feel good in it, that's all that matters.

I love the dress and you can make a ivory veil to go with it. The Price is great!

It is a very pretty dress and can certainly be used as your Wedding dress.

Wearing a veil will make you look more like a Bride than anything else. And don't worry you can find veils in Champagne I know that www.SymphonyBridal.com has champage colored veils.

Wow - that is an absolutely beautiful dress.

There are some other dresses that I can suggest that look similar to that one that you might like as well - but, I am not sure about some of the prices.

You should try it on and see if you like it. Then add a veil to it.

I like it (I would wear it for my upcoming ROV), but if you really want to try to check out affordable WEDDING dresses, the only other option I can give you is this: sign on to Jay's Bridal.....(It's free, and I haven't gotten any junk mail from them....) Go to sample sales and check your size and even check one or two sizes bigger (you might find the perfect dress, and get it altered.....) They got nice simple ones for $179, $279....

It is a lovely dress and would be fine for a wedding.  My only issue would be that it looks a little bit like a nightgown because it is fairly plain and because of the material used.  Here are some other dresses that are similar and you may like which all come in a variety of whites...

And who really cares if it looks like a bridesmaids dress?  Just make sure your bridesmaids are a tiny bit less formal than you!  Don't get me wrong - I do like your dress selection, however just personally I see it more as a nightgown... but you could easily get away with it if your heart is set on it!

Sure, you can use it as a wedding dress, there are many gowns like that out there  for less formal weddings, and there are lots of brides like you who do not want the whole white ballgown thing, who would choose a dress like that one.

You can dress it up however you want, with flowers in your hair, or a hair ornament, or a veil[if I were picking a veil for that dress, I would do a 1940's style a small piece of veiling close to the face and chin lenth, then a longer piece in the back, short and flity would be smashing], or not, as you choose.

If you want a different look, you might find a champagne wedding dress that looks more traditional, and that has the sweetheart neckline. But if you like this one, and I do like that  dress, go for it. Very 1940's glam, very in style right now.

I have the same problem, white washes me out, too. I'm a nurse, and that used to be a problem, thank goodness nurses do not always have to wear white these days.

PS, I have heard some things about David's bridal, and I went with someone once to check on something for her daughter's wedding, and was not pleased with the attitude of the saleswoman. Obviously, she did not work on commission, because she lost a sale on wraps for the bridesmaids, five of them. All that woman had to say was; ohh, yes, churches and halls can get so cold in the summer with the air conditioning! And she would have had the sale. The salewoman was told that I and another friend were just there to see the dresses[and that was true}, and then our friend asked about the wraps. Wrong thing to do, the woman looked us up and down and left, never to return.

Don't know why people told you it looks like a bridesmaid dress. Yeah, it isn't poufy, but not everyone looks good in poufy.

Pair it with glittery jewelry and you'll feel like a bride.

It's a cute dress, once you add your veil, bouquet, and other accessories to it, then it will look more "wedding dress" like. You can always bring it somewhere to have it altered or add something to it, but it looks fine. Good luck & Congrats!!

Sure. It's lovely. However, unless you are stick thin, that dress will be hard to wear. It is silk and will stick to every curve you have...

It's your wedding and if you love the dress wear it!

I actually tried that dress on in a deep blue and it was gorgeous. BUt it might be a little difficult to dance in, if you plan on dancing all night, this might not be the dress for you.
