Can thrush be an early symptom of pregnancy?

I've had it for a week now and am supposed to be on my period around this time but am not. Normally, around aweek before my period, my b***s are sore and I get cramps in my stomach as an indication that I will be on soon...not getting any. Will get a pregnancy test later but just wanted to know whether thrush can be an early symptom of pregnancy? I've never had it before.

Thanks

  1. Hiya. No, thrush is not a sign of pregnancy. It's an over growth of a bacteria that naturally lives in the body. Hormones, anitibiotics, and using perfumed products in that area of the body can cause it. You can get over the counter products to treat it, if you know that's what it is, howver, if you think that you may be pregnant, you need to see a doctor first. He/she will advise you if it is safe to use these products in pregnancy. Good luck.

  2. I was in similar situation five months ago. But thanks good I was just terrified and i was not pregnant. I have read many things about symptoms and i started believe I was pregnant too. About the thrush I have never rode that before. In my opinion you should take test and be sure .But i really think that your mind is the main reason why are so confused.that's way you should calm down first.!

    good luck darling

  3. Yes, it may be possible you are pregnant

  4. While yeast infections are more common during pregnancies, it's not necessarily a sign that you're pregnant. It could simply be a sign of a hormonal change happening within your body which isn't allowing you to fight off the overgrowth of the candida as per usual.

I've done some research into this myself and found that a lot of young women report a yeast infection before their periods. That period before your period is when you start experience hormonal changes, and oftentimes the infection goes away after your menses.

To be on the safe side, you should get things checked out by your doctor. The other side of what you describe as thrush can also point to other forms of infection... It's always better to be safe than sorry!

    Good luck!
