Can timber give you splinters,?

just try sliding down a bannister with no drawers on.

Yes rough cut timber can, so wear gloves while working with it, if you hands are soft. sanded wood is usually OK though.

If you have a splinter get it out pretty quick as if the wood is dirty you hand can go septic / poisoned. Hope this helps
