  1. Depends the breed. If their dwarves then I spose they should be okay if their kept together from an early age. But be prepared sometimes even litter mates may fight later on in life.

If their syrians/teddy bears then definately not, syrians are solitary and territorial creatures, and they prefer to live alone. They don't like company, and although the two boys may seem to be okat together at the start once they hit puberty they will fight to the death.

So if their dwarves yes, if syrians then no. :)

  2. It depends what type of hamsters they are. If they are Syrians then no, not at all. But, if they are dwarfs, then certainly you can keep two male hamsters with each other! There is always a chance they can fight so keep a look out on them. The hamster's will break the brother-sister line and you will end up with lots and lots of little hammys, so don't put males and the females in the same cage!

    Hope this helps!:)

  3. If they are Syrians (any of the "bear" hamsters) they will fight either way. It does not matter that they're brothers, once they reach maturity they'll get territorial. And hamsters WILL mate with their brothers or sisters, so don't keep males and females together. They don't have the same taboos people do.

Basically, if you want to keep 2 you'll have to get 2 cages, unless they are dwarf hamsters (although they may fight, as well).

I'd also separate the parents of those hamsters, so you don't end up with more babies.

  4. What type of hamsters are they?

If they are syrians (the bigger type, probably the most common) then they can't share a cage. They are very territorial and will fight with each other, usually resulting in death.

Any other type are OK to share a cage.

And yes, male and female hamsters will mate with each other. It doesn't matter what type they are and they will still mate even if they are related in any way.

  5. if they were together when u got them they should be okay, but since they're both males they might fight a lot.

  6. they can be in one cage for a while but when they start to get aggressive with each other...buy the second cage

we had brothers and when they started inflicting bodily harm...we got the second cage

  7. if they are a boy and girl doesnt matter if they are sister and brother they are going to reproduce!!!! and you dont want that! If you have two boys then one is going to try and be the dominate male, and two girls one will try and be the dominate female. If you have a small animal vet where you live take the boy in and get him fixed and a boy and girl will be ok. If the two boys are fighting now then chances are they arent going to all the sudden start getting along!

  8. yes, but separate them as soon as you see the littlest bit of aggressive behavior, hamsters do not follow the same morals we do, and will mate with their siblings
