  1. It actually depends.  It is not the hose as much as it is the source of water.  Most people do not know it, but city water is actually not good for anybody even humans.  This is because it actually contains fluoride.  Flo ride may be good for your teeth a little, but it is actually very bad for your over all body.  Putting floride in your body is almost like drinking chlorinated pool water.  This is why some toothpaste packages warn you that their toothpaste contains floride.   I personally have my own well with fresh water staright from the ground.   Consider you water source.  A hose just transports water.  Good Luck

  2. Condition the water a little and let it warm up a little.

  3. only if you put in water conditioner

  4. Pika i am going to disagree with you on this one.

i'd be more worried about the water coming from the hose. hoses can harbor bacteria that can kill animals. one time when i was taking care of the school's fish tank i filled it straight from a hose that sat out in the sun 24/7 and within the hour all of the fish had died. i filled the tank again with new fish from the same tap, minus the hose and they lived just fine.

water from the tap is fine. make sure to take the hose off or get a clean one and make sure to condition it to get out the chlorine
