I have a small TV/single DVD player combo in my room. Would I be able to hook up a normal DVD player to that TV?

  1. Just plug the AV cables (the red, white, and yellow ones) that comes with the DVD player into the corrosponding slots in the tv.  Hit the tv video button and select where it is.  There is another way if you dont have AV jacks.

  2. It would be possible if there are inputs on the back of your TV.  I doubt there are if it is just a small set with a DVD already as a component part of the unit.  If you find plug-ins on the back of your set other than the ones for cable or rabbit ear type antenna it probably is possible.   Best thing to do is of course check your manual or find one on line if you don't have one.   Many companies make them available in PDF form.  Look up model number and documentation in the support portion of manufacturer's website.

  3. I have 2 DVD players on my home theatre. One is primarily a high end audio universal disk player and the other is a HD DVD player. I simply select which I want to watch / listen to via the A/V receiver input switch.

Your setup is somewhat simpler, but if your TV/DVD player combo has video and audio inputs you could connect a second DVD player.

You would then switch the input to the TV to select which player you were watching.
