Can two female degus stay in the same cage?

ok my female have been in the same cage but one of my degu*sunset is haveing pups can they still share the same cage?

  2. Yeah, it's perfectly fine to keep them in the same cage. She will be very helpful to the mom, watching them if she needs a break from them, or just snuggling with them. ^-^

    On the contrary, male degus can stay with the pups, too. They are very helpful, as well. But to prevent breedback, they should be removed and placed in a different cage. When my first female gave birth, the father was excellent with the pups.

    Also, in the wild, female degus who give birth around the same time often share their pups with each other. They will feed every pup, regardless if it's theirs or not. Degus are wonderful parents.

  3. i have no clue what a degus is but if one has pup she going to be very protective over them so keep them apart for a lil bit and intro. them slowly and she how they interact but watch them carefully and wen u do decide to put them together watch them carefully still good luck!
