Can two guinea pigs live together in a hut outside in certain weather? I can bring them inside when it is too hot or too cold. So can I?

  1. While its fine to let your piggies outside occasionally for some fresh grass or air, keeping them outside on a permanent basis is not a good idea. Guinea pigs should really be kept in an environment with a constant temperature of 70-75 degrees fahrenheit.

  2. I used to have 2 guinea pigs and we built them a hutch and we kept them there sometimes in the summer. But at night we just throw a blanket over the top and in the morning I check on them and Their fine. But don't leave them out 24/7.

  3. I have a site that will tell you everything you need to know about caring for guinea pigs..as for outdoors I keep mine outside only if the weather is suitable for them other wise there inside most the time . here is the link just click on and scroll to the bottom hope it helps

    ,http://jackiesguineapiggies.com/guineapi... good luck.

  4. I have a big outside cage for my guinea pigs and they love to go out side and eat grass and clover, when i bring them outside they popcorn and when its time to go in they dintt want to but keep in mind that they can easily get fleas from out side

  5. I wouldn't!

  6. I'd recommend keeping them indoors year round. If you bring them outside, I'd make sure to supervise carefully.

It's a lot easier to care for guinea pigs inside, and they really like being around people rather than isolated outside all day. Also, they aren't exposed to the elements and predators aren't an issue - I know several people who have had their outdoor rabbits/guinea pigs killed by neighbors' dogs!
