We recently bought 3 phones from china. however we were dismayed to find that all 3 phones have the same IMEI number. WE live in Canada and as far as I know Canada and the US don't use the IMEI blacklist so I'm not to concerned about that... however I'm concerned that phones with the same IMEI wont be able to call eachother. Shouldn't they be able to call as long as they each have a differn't sim card yes? (All 3 phones will be on Rogers Network, and we are all roomates. We wont switch to rogers untill i find out if I have to send the phone back or not)

  1. Yes, you are correct.  Since all 3 SIM card numbers are unique, you will still be able to call each other.  When recording the equipment to the account, Rogers will simply use a generic code for all 3rd-party (non-rogers) phones anyway.  This "dummy" IMEI is simply all "1"s but ending with a "9", so in actuallity all non-rogers phones have the same IMEI already.
