Can two planes intersect each other by means of another plane (not just a line)?

  1. Not that I know of. There are 3 scenarios for 2 planes:

    - They intersect at a line

    - They are coincident (lie on each other) and so, look like they only form one plane

    - They are parallel and so, do not touch at all.

  3. No. Since only one plane can intersect itself by means of another plane, and there cannot be two planes if they are the same.

  4. Yes, if they are two instances of the same plane.

    Otherwise, they can either intersect as a line, or, if they are parallel, they won't intersect at all.
