i'm going on a cruise with my sister next yr and we have decided to go on P&O. we've never been on a cruise before and would like a couple of questions answered - just to make sure we know we have made the right decision. we are both young adults (20 and 19). OK here's the questions:

how exactly does the "cruisecard" work & will we get our money back if we dont use it all while we're on the boat?

how safe exactly is it on board, especially at night?

is it easy to get around brisbane/sydney airports so we can find our transfer to the boat?

when is the best time to go cruising so we miss out on the cyclones? (we're thinking queensland or south pacific cruises)

i would really appreciate some tips and stories of experiences on P&O so we can make this a really enjoyable trip.

thanks

  1. You need to be a mnimum of 21 to get on any ship unless traveling with some one older than 21.. You can be refused upon arrival if not.

  2. Reconsider going on a different cruise lines - P&O is cheap and the boats aren't well maintained.  On youtube, P&O have many ships that have sailed into bad weather - TERRIFYING!!  Pay the money and go on a nice cruise ship, like Cunard or Crystal.

  3. I agree with Leila, and it doesnt even have to be more expensive, but P&O (a part of the Carnival corp) became disgusting like everything Carnival related.

    Bad service, terrible food...

Its the same as Costa, Carnival destroyed Costa.

I worked onboard all of them.

    Go Royal Caribbean, Silverseas, Crystal...

    there are several.

    My favorite Silverseas...

Thomson is cheap but good service and food, but old ships, old people...

    P&O sucks.
