  1. Of coarse. Your vision can change at anytime in your life for a variety of reasons including genetics, occupation, disease of the eye or body, there are so many different factors...It's very normal for your eyes to change, doesn't the rest of your body change?

  2. Yes, I only found out I was short sighted when I went to take my driving test aged 17!! was fine til then - its not bad, but has been getting worse as I grow older - I would love to have laser surgery - but it scares me, as messing with your eyes is a real risk!!!

  3. you can become, but mine is genetic

  4. I have this problem, which I first noticed when I was 10 years old, and so does my older daughter. She started developing it at the age of eight. I do believe I passed the condition on to her and if she has children, at least some of them will also have it.

By the way, it doesn't disappear as you get older. I used to be told that developing presbyopia would start to cancel out the severity of my eye problem. It hasn't. I'm still as bad as I ever was.

  5. You can be born with it, it's rare though. You more often become short-sighted as you grow.

  6. Yeap !

  7. yup.

  8. I became short-sighted when i was 7. so yeah.

  9. short sightness is usually genetic but doesn't occur or become noticeable until the age of two.

  10. I became short sighted at age 30.

I am an artist and do a lot of close-up work and reading - I think this contributes to it.
