Can u buy a cordless house phone set (u get 2 or 3 phones) which can also make free calls to one another?

So basicallly a cordless house phone set that has the finctionality to call each other as well (for free). Similar to a walkie talkie... but I am not wanting a walkie talkie.

If there is such a feature is there a name for it?

Yes, almost every cordless phone has an intercom facility. Even the cheap ones. It should say on the specification.

The facility you are referring to is simply called "Intercom". If you have one cordless phone, there will normally be an intercom button on the base unit to call the handset. If you have two or more phones, each one will be numbered (1, 2...) enabling you to call one handset from another for free.

These days, nearly all phones of this type have an intercom facility.
