  1. It depends on what you mean by "decompose". If you mean reducing water to its relative components (oxygen and hydrogen) then yes, you can do that by running very large amounts of electricity through water (this is called electrolysis). This will produce oxygen gas and hydrogen gas. Technically, this is the same thing as organic matter decomposing. Its an oxidation reaction in which water is oxidized to oxygen gas. Hope this helps!

  2. You can decompose water using electrolysis, which is basically running a current through it. The water breaks down into hydrogen and oxygen.

  3. Only living things can decompose. Water is not a living thing so it can't be decomposed.

For technical terms: Water is made up of two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen; h20 for short. I wouldn't really know of a way to seperate the hydrogen from the oxygen though. I hope I've helped some.

  4. You can break the bond between the hydrogen and oxygen atoms with electrolysis. By applying a voltage via electrodes in water oxygen bubbles will form on the positive electrode and hydrogen on the negative one. Water really doesn't "decompose" as it will evaporate into water vapor but it's still water.

  5. You can decompose water with electricity into hydrogen and oxygen gasses.
