Interesting...at work we're just about to have a baby shower for a team-mate who's going on leave. She's about to have her third child. She was breastfeeding her second, he's just over a year old; and she thought she wouldn't get pregnant. Then I also know two other women who also thought the same thing and now they have kids with roughly a year's difference in age.

Three out of three? I believe you can fall pregnant and I wouldn't hazard it.

Yes, I planned to and I did. I fell again while I had a 6 month old who was exclusively breast fed (meaning no other food or drink but breast milk till he was 9 months old ) and I continued with it right thru my pregnancy and then breast feeding both. But my period started 6 weeks after birth of my first child. I was told that if you get a break of 5 hours or more between feeds then that could start your ovulation system again and my first born slept 10 hours a night from 2 days old. but you may still fall before your period comes back.

Its less likely but it can happen. If you get pregnant though you won't be able to keep breastfeeding.

For the first 6 weeks it's about 99% protection against pregnancy, for everyone.

It cann work for 6 months, although the 99% is a maximum, not an average.

But it isn't the most reliable way. Every woman's body is different, and yours may not respond as well to it as that.

I really wouldn't risk it, as after giving birth you are very fertile.

You can still breastfeed while you're pregnant.

My ex ff was married to a wife beater, she had his baby, when he finally showed up at the hospital he was drunk and horny, he jumped her in the hospital, messed her all up "down there" and got her pregnant. Her kids birthdays are days apart.

It is absolutely possible to fall pregnant while breastfeeding. You can still ovulate. I have had a few friends receive the suprising news of another baby on the way while still breastfeeding. The mini pill is an option while feeding and is safe for bubs.

yes you can alot of people use it as contraception once they have give birth, these people usually find that they have 2 babies close together. yes it does supress ovulation but when you bear in mind that you are also at your most fertile whan you have just had a baby then they sort of cancel eachother out

There are less chances are compare to not feeding your baby. Breast feeding is best time to make a good bond with the child.one can talk to baby and become child some time. How ever if you want to avoid pregnancy adopt all precautionary measure whilst having s*x
