Can u get tan while skiing?

im goin skiing for my first time..im goin around 9 am to 2 ...can i get a tan on my face[not bourned] and will people actually notice it...

LOL Yeah! All the locals call it a goggle tan. If its pretty sunny yeah you will get a BIG GOGGLE TAN!

Yes you can, but put on sunscreen, you will burn faster at elevation from the reflection off the snow.

Yes, how much depends on weather and where you're going.  Cloud cover determines how much sun and UV rays get through, so a clear "bluebird sky" will be more intense.  Direct sun will tan you, as will reflected rays from the snow.  Altitude and latitude also come into play as well as which direction you'll be facing.  Skiing Vermont this week might get you a healthy glow, skiing Tahoe in March can get you burned!  Suggestions: check the UV index on the Weather Channel and pack a few different SPF strengths of sunblock, and don't forget sunblock for your lips and nose!   p.s.- have fun!

at the indoor arenas you can get tan or if you go spring skiing you can wear short sleves

Well, I did. But people don't notice. It isn't THAT noticeable - just a mild tan. But I skiied for four hours, and you're going to ski for five...I don't know if that makes a difference.

Skiing is very fun, btw. You fall a lot in the beginning (at least I did) but after just a little while it'll be EXHILERATING.

i never got a tan skiing i dont think its very commom but i guess you can.

Yes, you can see on the people who ski alot that there's an outline of goggle shape on their face.

The snow reflects the sunlight back on to your face, even though its cold, you can still get tanned from it.

OO YA!!!! I ski in CO alot and i never wear sunscreen you have a sunny day and the sun reflects off the snow you are going to get really tan. I get badly burned and wind swept.
