  2. Going from ac to dc is simple. First you need a transformer to transform 440 to 110 then a bridge rectifier. Everything needs to be rated for the current you require.

    Bear in mind the dc will have a ripple. Adding a capacitor will remove some of it. If you need a smooth supply then consider filters. It all depends on what you are powering.

  3. No, Definitely not. I once gave 110 V adaptor a input of 240 V. It worked for few minutes, It just blow off tripping our circuit breaker. All the component inside was bburned.
