  1. Try the pound for pound rankings, the Heavyweight divison stinks. The pound for pound list is where you will find the top 10 fighters in the game. Anyone that knows boxing knows the Heavyweights are suspect right now and any list with John Ruiz in the top 10 is a fraud.

Here are the current rankings as of 02-25-08:

    1. Floyd Mayweather Welterweight

    2. Manny Pacquiao Jr. Lightweight

    3. Juan Manuel Marquez Jr. Lightweight

    4. Bernard Hopkins Lt. Heavyweight

    5. Joe Calzaghe Super Middleweight

    6. Israel Vazquez Jr. Featherweight

    7. Miguel Cotto Welterweight

    8. Ricky Hatton Welterweight

    9. Winky Wright Middleweight

    10. Rafael Marquez Jr. Featherweight

  2. Heavyweights (200 and up)

    1. Vitali Klitschko (35-2). Good news for everyone: Excellent match with Hasim Rahman will be live on HBO, not on pay-per-view. Next: April 30 vs. Rahman.

    2. Chris Byrd (38-2-1). Could return to Germany to defend belt in April rematch vs. Wladimir Klitschko but not under terms being offered by promoter Don King. Next: TBA.

    3. John Ruiz (40-5-1). Good chance he'll next face his recently appointed mandatory, James Toney. Next: TBA.

    4. Hasim Rahman (40-5-1). Active ex-champ rebounded with five wins last year to earn another title shot. Next: April 30 vs. V. Klitschko.

    5. James Toney (68-4-2). The fight is probably months away, but he's already predicting a knockout of Ruiz if they fight. Next: TBA.

    6. Jameel McCline (31-4-3). Represents a mammoth step up in class for 2000 U.S. Olympian Calvin Brock. Next: April 23 vs. Brock.

    7. Andrew Golota (38-5-1). Fourth fight for a title could finally be the charm when he challenges Lamon Brewster. Next: May 21 vs. Brewster.

    8. Lamon Brewster (31-2). Goes into the lion's den when he defends belt in Golota's hometown of Chicago. Next: May 21 vs. Golota.

    9. Monte Barrett (31-3). Overcame bad cut to TKO Owen Beck in ninth round of elimination bout. Next: TBA.

    10. Fres Oquendo (24-3). He also lives in Chicago and will land a slot on Brewster-Golota undercard. Next: May 21 vs. TBA.
