Can u give me pointwise how to harness nonrenewable resources?

one great way is to talk to your energy provider and see if they offer electricity that is obtained from green technologies.  I kow in NJ they created this renewable program where if you paid a bit more then they would get your electricity from a combination of wind, hydro, or solar.  This was great because it added that green electricity to the grid whiole cutting back from coal.  I would see if there is a silimar program around by where you live.
