Hockey consists of 5 skaters and one goaltender on each side.  The skaters are broken down into offensive and defensive categories.  The offensive players (forwards) are Left Winger, Right Winer, and Center.  The defensive players (defensemen) work in pairs.  That's the basics, and you can go into more specific role-players, like goons....
