  1. I feel, tht during a debate, u need to put your point logically. u need to identify any loop holes in the opposite persons argument. i dont think language is the ONLY thing in a debate but yes it adds more polish to your speech. be calm while presenting your points. be very well prepared and well read on your topic. all the best !!

  2. Well, don't use good when you should use well. It makes you sound uneducated.

  3. I think you can  talk about anything at length and hold a good debate only when you are calm and know your topic very well.  I think such knowledge should be aquired before hand ....no last minute cramming....that leads to panic.  And finally you should practice and think of questions that may arise and try to answer them yourself.  You should also pay attention to pace of speaking.  You should speak slowly so that people understand what you are saying and of course emphasis whenever needed.... I hope this helps.

    Good Luck!

  4. dont be tensed.........

  5. well... if you have "tokk" part in debates and not won them... I can't imagine why.!

FIRST you need to know ENGLISH and secondly you need to know BOTH SIDES of the argument... you can never win a debate if you only know the pro or con side becauses you don't understand how the other person is thinking.

  6. "can u give me tips on performing good in a debate?"

    Yes.

Brush up on your English language skills. Know the proper words to use and when to use them.

For example; Can ("you") give me tips on performing ("well") in a debate.

Here's another one; "i ve tokk part," (I'm assuming you meant "I've took part."), is also improper English. "I've taken part" is the correct way to make this statement.

I see that you've "won many inter-class debates." Judging from the language skills you've demonstrated, I can honestly say that your competition wasn't stellar. Study, study, study so that you'll have a better chance of winning in your new competitive arena. Good luck.

  9. The debates U participate now are no more different than the one U have done in UR High School. U need to show the same velocity that U did in UR school. Get out of the feeling that U are competing with elder ones and do remember that they are of the same age of yours. Go ahead...U will definitely win.all the best

  10. hey you can do  alot of things ..first of all read a lot...you can only talk if you have good knowledge about the topics. so make sure you are in touch with the current happenings. secondly you need to be good with your communication skills also..the way you present yourself makes all the difference...dont get over excited..people should not make out that u are getting  nervous or angry..etc... make good eye contact..have firm voice..and lots of confidence...all the best...
