  1. it's probable cause, and in order to get pulled over or arrested there must be some resonable suspicion that you commited either a traffic violation or a crime, they can't just pull you over to pull you over. unless they are doing a road block to check for drunk drivers which agencies do time to time

  2. An arrest (in this case defined as someone taken to jail) requires probable cause.  A traffic stop requires reasonable suspicion, which is a lesser threshold needed to take action.

  3. If a cop follows you for 3 blocks, he will find at least 5 different things to ticket you for. Everyone.

  4. The cops can pull you over anytime. They can say you fit the discription of someone they looking for.

  5. A cop can't pull you over for no reason. He'll make up a probable cause to support why he pulled you over, it happens all the time...

  6. You do not have to have probable cause to stop a vehicle, only reasonable suspicion.

  7. It happens more than you think.

  8. fruit of the poisonous tree.......if the PC is weak for the stop and you have something else going in the car (100 lbs crack cocaine) the PC for the stop would be challenged in court.  Of course there would have to be compelling PC in the first place to search your car. (consent)  Of course plain sight is another thing.
