  1. "The tribe of the Fomorians was on the scene long before any other races came to Ireland. However, the Fomors lived mainly in (by) the sea.

The first outside race to invade Ireland was the race of Partholon; very little is known of them. After 300 years of struggle against the Fomors, the Partholons died of an epidemic.

Next came the race of Nemed who also suffered from an epidemic. This time, though, some of them survived, only to be oppressed by the Fomors.

Later came colonizers from Spain or Greece called the Fir Bolgs. They were actually three tribes; men of Domnu, men of Gaillion, and men of Bolg. They inter-married with the Fomors and held the country until the arrival of the Tuatha De Danann".

Most of the Irish are descended from one of the three sons of Milesius. http://members.aol.com/lochlan2/legends....

KING MILESIUS OF SPAIN; (GAUL) A valiant warrior, prosperous in all his undertakings. He was contemporary with Solomon. He planned to invade Ireland to avenge the death of his uncle, ITHE, killed by the TUATHA-DE-DANANS, and also to fulfill a prophesy. His eight sons took on the charge after his death.

  2. Conquered by British 400 years ago.

  3. Yeah we're on the outreaches of the continent of Europe. Not a bad spot, but a bit cold and wet. The history of Ireland is a long one, but I'll give you an overview. First people probably settled around 8,000BC, in the 5th Century AD the island was Christianised by a Roman called Palladius, in 795, Vikings began to raid settlements on the coast. They set up several towns. In the 11th century AD, the Anglo-Normans invaded and kicked the native Irish off their lands. These kinds of invasions continued into the 16th century. After several rebellions Ireland finally became a Free State from Britain in 1922 and a Republic in 1941. It's hard to go into a lot of detail here but if you do a google search you will get tonnes of information

  4. Yeah, it's in Europe. I would reccomend going on Google for information. I'd tell you myself but that would take forever. also, your flight may be over 15 hours.

    Ireland Rocks!
