  1. yea, where else would she have her bby?

  2. Well, I can't imagine you going into a hospital with a baby halfway hanging out of you and having them say, "Oops, sorry."

  3. Yes and No. You may walk into the hospital, check in, have your baby, and stay there for 3 days and no one will ever call anyone.

But the hospital can not release you without your parents consent. They can not tell them why you were there. that is confidentiality. but they can't just let you leave. they are required by law to have your parents check you out to ensure that you are taken care of.

I do think your best bet would be to talk to your parents or at least an adult you trust that will help you emotionally through this tough time.

    Good Luck

  4. Yes. The "age of consent" isn't a specific age at all, but rather a doctors evaluation of the patients ability to understand the gravity of the medical decisions they will be making.

That being said, hospitals still prefer to have a parents "okay" for procedures, but no hospital is going to choose the preferences of the parent in your particular situation. You're the patient. It's your baby. Your decision.

  5. I worked in a hospital for a few years and I had to deal with this issue a lot. The answer is yes. When a minor becomes pregnant they become an adult in a sense. They make their own medical decisions and become their own guarantor. They sign all consent forms themselves. They also make all decisions for the child when it is born. The Dr. including all medical staff cannot tell their parents anything unless they have consent from the patient.  If they do it is a HIPPA (Health Information Patient Privacy Act) violation which the minor could then sue the hospital. HIPPA violations are a big NO NO!

  6. A female who is pregnant or is a parent is considered to be an adult with regards to her own healthcare or the healthcare of her child(ren), regardless of her own age.

  7. of course!

  8. Yes, they can't deny giving you care. But how are you going to hide it for 40 weeks??

  9. Yes, the doctors would prefer you have it there then anywhere else :)

Well it also depends... Your friend may be over reacting, and if she gets kicked out there are places she can go, she can also go to a hospital to find help. Most people say that my cousin said that not too long ago and yet she told her parents and they are trying to help her in any way they can. Your friend needs to tell her parents the sooner the better.

  10. they have to deliver it no matter the circumstances because it is a legal medical emergency. you definitely can't deliver it by yourself. whether your parents are there or not doesn't matter in this case.

  11. no you cant, plus, you will need someone, trust me!

  12. i think you can because it come under patient confideliaty wich will protect that info but they have to not sure sorry

  13. well if your preggo you will have a baby either way. i doubt if you go into a hospital when your in labor they would turn you down

  14. uhh where else would u have the baby? u think that they need ur parents consent to deliver ur baby? NOT...u come to emergency with a baby hanging out ur Va Jay Jay and see if they call mom...they actually need ur consent to tell ur parents anything once ur 14...privacy laws protect minors too when it comes to medical information!

  15. If you could get pregnant without their consent, don't think having it will be any harder. The hospital HAS to take you. They can't turn a woman in Labor away. A girl in labor, I mean. They'll probably bill your parents or their insurance. They'll be mad as heck! You better tell em you're pregnant, coz u need prenatal care or you and your baby could be in danger. Suck it up and tell them, you owe it to your unborn child.

  16. What are they gonna do put a plug in it until mommy and daddy say yes? The baby is going to come out whether they say yes or no. Don't worry about it...hospitals have laws they have to follow and they are not going to turn away a pregnant kid because of mommy and daddy.

  17. they wouldnt have much a choice if your in labour, but expect someone to call your folks or a legal guardian.

I wont bother saying a minor shouldnt be pregnant..coz it happens *sigh* but a minor that has a baby NEEEDS support! both financially, and mentally. Babies aint easy

  18. yes, but you really should talk to your parents about the aftercare.

  19. Once you are pregnant, and when you have the baby, it doesn't matter how old you are most places will consider you an adult. For instance hospitals, dentists, welfare offices etc. You may not be able to get a regular job still, but healthcare can't be denied. BTW once you are a mommy you are considered legally emancipated, at least in my state, and you no longer need parental consent for anything.

  20. The law is very clear on this. In no circumstances can care not be given to any woman who is going through labor. No matter what!
