  1. i wouldnt. they might kill eachother. i bought two hamsters (russian dwarf) and they killed eachother and both died. and they were brothers ( or sisters). so i'd probably put them in different cages.

  2. Actually, no you can't. All that they'll do is fight. I tried it once, and they just walked around, and when I woke up, the males body was on the ground with the stomach slit open, and blood was all over the bedding. The female had its ear torn off, and we had to take it to the vet. It almost died.

(males name was tintin, and females name was sally)

  3. yes some hampsters are solatary but some small breeds will live happly together like russian ones (dont know its propper name)  the golden teddy bear type ones live alone but small gray couloured ones live together good luck i love hampsters

    males will fight

females will be ok i think

male and females = loads of them

be prepared to seperate i needed and buy them at the same time from same litter unless you plan to have babys wich i dont incourage

  4. well ya

  5. if both are males then u shouldn't they will fight and kill eachother. i had 2 and one's face was torn off and had to be thrown out the second we saw it because it's leg's  and guts were everywhere. it's face was .......ew.   but if u have a female and a male  then if they like eachother they will have babies. but once they do have babies, remove the male because he will eat the children.

  6. Not if they are Syrian. That normally leads to fighting, and eventually injury or death. But other breeds live quite happily together!

  7. Don't do that i had a hampster and it lost one eye because it got attacked by another hampster

  8. Some of them will fight, and some won't. Here is a list:

    Syrians - WILL fight

    Campbells - No

    Winter Whites - Maybe

    Roborovskis - No

    Chinese - Maybe

As long as you put two from the same litter together, they won't fight. But either get robos or campbells.

  9. First of all, the word is Hamster.

No, it is advisable not to keep 2 hamsters together in the same cage, because hamsters are territorial, and they fight a lot until they are severely wounded, or worse, even killed.

I've seen a lot of hamsters fighting, blood spurted out...so I won't recommend placing two hamsters together.

Dwarf hamsters usually do well in companies, but even they get into fight at times, so even they should be kept separately to stay on the safe side.

The Syrian hamsters must be provided with their own cage. More than one could cause stress which often leads to a life-threatening disease, known as WET TAIL.

You can keep two hamsters, but you'll need to keep them in separate cages.

Roborovskis and Russian Campbells are socialable, and fighting is rare among them...so they could be kept together.

But still, keeping them in their separate cages is much better, and your hamster would be happy.

  10. depends on if they are the same s*x. Usually two male hamsters will fight each other alot. Not a good thing im not sure about female hamsters but maybe you shouldnt risk it if at all possible.

  11. It depends. Syrian hamsters (also known as teddy bears, black bears, panda bears, honey bears, goldens, dalmations, etc.) are solitary animals, meaning only ONE per cage.

Dwarf hamsters can be kept in same s*x pairs, assuming the cage is large enough. They must be litter mates and bought together at the same time. However, there's always going to be a chance that they'll fight so you must be prepared to separate and house them in different cages if needed.

  12. sure ya can, i dont think they'll kill eachother, dont think they can...

  13. well It depends. Syrian hamsters can not be in the same cage cuz they will fight but other hamster will be ok such as dwarf hamster they can be in the same cage to make babies

  14. yes but if you have 2 its best that they are both girls so they dont fight or have babyz

  15. It depends. Sometimes hamsters can get along fine with each other but other times they just want to fight. The only way to find out about two specific hamsters is put them in one cage and be ready to transfer one of them if any problem arises. Also hamsters' dispositions can change as they grow older so you should always be ready to give them their own cages if necessary

  16. Depends on what hamster The Syrian(Big Ones) cant live together In captivity the Syrian Hamster's solitary instinct prevails and once mature it will not normally accept the company of another hamster. Although they live together as babies and are often seen caged together in pet shops or at the breeders, as the hamsters mature their solitary instinct develops. Syrian Hamsters will not, therefore, usually tolerate the company of another hamster once they reach approximately 6-10 weeks of age when fighting starts to occur. These fights may not be serious at first but as the hamster matures the frequency and severity of the fights increase. The fights most often take place during the night when the hamsters are most active and so often goes unobserved until serious injury or even death of one or both hamsters occurs. Therefore Syrian Hamsters should be housed separately once purchased in order to prevent injury - the golden rule is one hamster, one cage.

and the Dwarf Hamsters In captivity the Dwarf Campbells Russian Hamster is a sociable pet and will live with another of its own kind if they are introduced when young. However, an older hamster will resent the addition of another hamster which it will perceive to invade its territory and a fierce fight is likely to occur.
