  1. There are many reasons why this may be occurring, all of them require a level of investigation, so I am afraid this is not a question for Answers. Possibilities include an atopic focus over-riding your heart rate control.

  2. is it a feeling like its going to burst out your chest? are you feeling flushed? is it hurting?    this happens to me, all but to often, and i suffer panic attacks,  u say its not panic attacks, no one having a attack thinks it is, it really does make you think something seriously is wrong, try to relax, i no thats sounds impossible while this is happenin, but it sure will pass.    if your really worried, call nhs diret, your gp or ambulance. hope u feel better soon

  3. go to the hostiptal you silly sausage

  4. You're in the hospital now yet you're asking for help on Yahoo Answers????

  5. The ventilation-perfusion scan is a nuclear scan so named because it studies both airflow (ventilation) and blood flow (perfusion) in the lungs. The initials V-Q are used in mathematical equations that calculate airflow and blood flow. The purpose of this test is to look for evidence of a blood clot in the lungs, called a pulmonary embolus, that lowers oxygen levels, causes shortness of breath, and sometimes is fatal.

    Pulmonary emboli are most often caused by blood clots in the veins, especially veins in the legs or in the pelvis (hips). More rarely, air bubbles, fat droplets, amniotic fluid, or clumps of parasites or tumor cells may obstruct the pulmonary vessels.

    The most common cause of a pulmonary embolism is a blood clot in the veins of the legs, called a deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Many clear up on their own, though some may cause severe illness or even death.

    Risk factors for a pulmonary embolus include:

        * Prolonged bed rest or inactivity (including long trips in planes, cars, or trains)

        * Oral contraceptive use

        * Surgery (especially pelvic surgery)

        * Childbirth

        * Massive trauma

        * Burns

        * Cancer

        * Stroke

        * Heart attack

        * Heart surgery

        * Fractures of the hips or femur

    Persons with certain clotting disorders may also have a higher risk.

    Rapid heart rate (tachycardia) is one of the symptoms of pulmonary embolism.
