help me with a good introduction to be said before starting a poem?

I have chosen the poem YOUNG NIGHT THOUGHTS by Robert Louis Stevenson for my 8yr old son's recitation comptition.

Can u help me with a good introduction to be said before starting the poem like goodmorning....or something else?

  1. Hi, I'm eight. I'm going to recite this poem. My Mom picked it. Hang on to your seats folks, because here I go!!

    I also suggest a floor sweeping bow at the end.

    'Young Night Thoughts', a child like dream

    With countless visions all unseen

    We read you now, from pages read

    Before we climb those stairs to bed.

    Then start the peom....
