BLEACH ANYONE?
Who is asleep at the wheel as criminals run our governmental offices and who is going to protect us from the ones that are to service and protect us?
It is said in every abuse case that the abused must open up and talk freely even under threats that the abuser may make even up to the extent that they will kill a close friend, relative, or even the abused if they tell anyone. However we continue to print articles, handouts, and make sure to tell our children and females to speak up and speak out about their abuse. It is also ensured that the abused once they open up and tell someone that they will receive protection provided by law enforcement and family protective services (SRS in Kansas ) and the court system. Recently three kids ranging in age from 8 to 12 opened up telling of the abuse at home by their step-father and step-grandmother. About the abuse they are receiving that ranges from verbal to physical abuse. Yelling, being put down, being threatened, to even being made to drink a bleach/water mix. These Three children showing all the classic signs and symptoms of abuse up to and including “that if we are made to go back to the home I am feared for my life so much that I would rather kill themselvesâ€Â. (This quote made by a 10 year old girl) They took their case to both Kiowa and Pratt County’s Courts. The Judge and their step-fathers attorney denied them the right to a fair hearing to plead their case, have any representation appointed, or to remain with their mother. They were told to be returned to the step-father on Friday Aug 8, 2008 . Then taking their case to the SRS office in Pratt the case worker found that it would be best for them to remain in the mother’s custody until an investigation could be completed. Taking this new information returned to Kiowa County to re-file and again were denied.
Friday Aug 8, 2008 these three children despite everything they were told and promised over the years by SRS, teachers, police, firefighters, pastors, loving family, and others, were returned to their step-father for farther abuse. Evident even before they left his attorney’s office in Pratt.
Could you imagine going through abuse, finally gaining the courage to tell someone, only to be returned back into that situation? Could you also imagine having to ride back in a vehicle for a few hours with an irate person and most likely being abused all the way home? What fate may these kids face once they and their irate step-father get home?
May God be with these kids!!!
Please pass this on and let everyone know.
