  1. Sure, but in official rules, your opponent would get ball in hand and can place the cue ball anywhere and shoot in any direction.

  2. Sure if your playing bar pool, anyone who doesn't play ball in hand rules is Ignorant to the game. By the way if you scratch on the 8 ball you lose.

  3. Not if you are playing BCA or world standardized rules, it would be ball in hand.  If you are playing bar rules you could and he would have to kick at it, or sometimes they have a spot rule.  I would advise against doing that though, I seen a few brawls over such donkey play.

  4. I play in the APA and anytime someone scratches the 8 ball it is a loss of game.

  5. it's a great strategy on bar table play. what you want to do though is at least make it look unintentional, by hitting your ball first or sinking your ball and scratching at the same time.

  6. Not if you also are on the 8

    Bar rules -sic- you lose

Standard rules he would get ball in hand on it

  7. if you are not on the 8 ball yourself and your not playing BCA rules you can do that. but most bars call that dirty pool. and you might have more to wory about that losing the game.
