  1. Where I live it is illegal to keep a horse on land less that 2 acres unless you have applied to the council. But if you are exercising it regularly and it has enough feed to sustain it then it should be allright.

But when you say sorta small, I don't get how small. I certainly wouldnt reccomend having a horse on a little house block! But if you have almost an acre, then I don't see a big problem.

  2. If you say "sorta small place" no one will have any idea what you are talking about! How small are you talking? In comparison to what?

It believe it is recommended to have at least one acre per horse for it to get the proper amount of exercise and grazing.

  3. As long as he has plenty of feed and he gets plenty of exercise daily. Because a small place is not good for long periods of time. He needs room to run and kick it up.

  4. depends what you mean by 'small'.

if you're meaning keeping it in your backyard,

    that's a definite no.

    horses need lots of room,

depending of where you live there are laws on how much land a single horse needs.

    check with your local council.

  5. No.  A healthy horse needs regular exercise. Horses require much time space and money. It may be a reportable offense if the living conditions for the horse are not large enough. I would say no less than one horse per half acre, at a bare minimum.
