  1. so you want to work on someone elses car now that makes sinse ... no man its not your car to be changing

  2. I believe the general rule with leasing cars is that they must be given back in EXACTLY the same condtion as when you picked them up.

So, there are some things to keep in mind.

While it may be nice to do work to a car, and personalise it, it technically isnt your car, as you havent paid for it. So, it may be in breech of your contract for you to alter it.

Also, you will need to keep whatever parts you replace, and make sure they stay in good condition for the whole time of the lease, so that you can swap them over at the end of the lease.

If you do this, then you will have a heap of old parts, that are basically worth nothing, as you cant use them, and they have been on a car for a few years.

Also, if you default on a payment, and the car is reposessed, you lose out on all the gear you fitted, plus, the lease company may charge you for the replacement parts to put the car back to standard.

Think long and hard before you play around with it. Particularly with motor parts.

  3. No. You cannot modify a leased vehicle. It must be returned as purchased and in good condition. Any deficiencies will be charged for.

  4. A car once leased is under contract. In fact, you would be charged for the wear and tear of your leased car after the contract ends.

In this case, it would be better to settle for an old model car and modify anything you want, sky's the limit.

  5. You can only make mods that can be easily reversed later with no visual aftereffects. However, you know you will buy the car at lease-end, you can do anything you want to it.
